 According to WhoScored, that was  one of Fred's three key passes on the day,  with only Jadon Sancho making more  in a red shirt.  In the absence of Bruno Fernandes and  Scott McTominay, no one made more  blocks for United, and only Harry Maguire  made more clearances. Fred stepped up to  the plate in midfield.  He had his doubters, and the game was  at times of poor quality, but Fred put in  a great performance to help United regain  some momentum.  Ronaldo was deserving of the man of  the match award – no one else could have  won it – but Fred also deserves appreciation  for his performance.
