 In the midst of incessant speculation over  his future, Paul Pogba has sent a message  to Manchester United fans.  Pogba re-signed for United from Juventus  in 2016 after progressing through the legendary  Old Trafford system, but he is now in the  final six months of his deal.  Pogba and his agent, Mino riaola, have so  far turned down United's offers for a new contract , which is set to expire in June 2022. It indicates  the midfielder's future is in serious jeopardy . He can begin negotiating with teams outside  of the United States as early as tomorrow  (January 1st), with the goal of making a  free move in the summer.  However, if the 28-year-old decides to  extend his contract, United will have one  last chance to sell Pogba during the January  transfer window.

  Manchester United interim manager  Ralf Rangnick hopes to have key players  back at his disposal for the Premier League  clash against Wolves on Monday (January  3, 5:30pm kick-off). Bruno Fernandes returns from suspension,  while Victor Lindelof and Raphael Varane  are also expected to be available for a potential  start again. Fernandes missed United's win over Burnley  on Thursday after collecting a fifth yellow  card of the season at Newcastle. Rangnick is hopeful of having Lindelof,  who tested positive for Covid-19, and Varane , who picked up a knock, back in contention. "I hope that Victor could be back by then ,"  he said in his press conference.   Manchester United have made contact  with River Plate starlet Julian Alvarez ahead  of a potential move in the January transfer  window. Reports last week from Fabrizio Romano  claimed  that while Ralf Rangnick’s side  are monitoring the Argentine attacker, there  had been no talks going on as things stand. However, Austin sports have since revealed  that Alvarez’s agent Fernando Hidalgo  has been contacted by the Red Devils as  they push towards making a new signing. Ralf Rangnick is hopeful Victor  Lindelof   will be free from isolation for  Manchester United's home game against  Wolves on Monday.
