Breaking news: Ralf Ragnick confirms three superstars return ahead of wolves clash ,what a boost to the squad .
Manchester United interim manager
Ralf Rangnick hopes to have key players
back at his disposal for the Premier League
clash against Wolves on Monday (January
3, 5:30pm kick-off).
Bruno Fernandes returns from suspension,
while Victor Lindelof and Raphael Varane
are also expected to be available for a potential
start again.
Fernandes missed United's win over Burnley
on Thursday after collecting a fifth yellow
card of the season at Newcastle.
Rangnick is hopeful of having Lindelof,
who tested positive for Covid-19, and Varane
, who picked up a knock, back in contention.
"I hope that Victor could be back by then
," he said in his press conference.
"Under normal circumstances, if the next
test is negative, the PCR test is negative,
he should be able to come back for this game.
"He has no symptoms so he should have
no physical problems for that game.
"I was thinking of playing him [Varane] but
the last time that happened after this muscle
injury, he was then out for another couple of
weeks, so we didn’t want to make the same
mistake again. So that is why he was on the bench."
French International Varane could start ahead
of Eric Bailly, who is set to link up with Ivory
Coast ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Phil Jones is also another option for the
German boss, having been on the bench at
Newcastle.
Wolves boss Bruno Lage, however, is
waiting to see exactly who will be available
for selection after the coronavirus outbreak
in the squad that led to Tuesday's match
at Arsenal being called off.
Jonny (knee), Pedro Neto (knee), Hwang
Hee-Chan (hamstring), Yerson Mosquera
(hamstring) and Willy Boly (calf) will remain
unavailable while Rayan Ait-Nouri continue
to recover from a groin problem.
