Manchester United 'want Gerhard
Struber as Ralf Rangnick
assistant'
Manchester United are reportedly keen for New
York Red Bull’s head coach Gerhard Struber
to be Ralf Ragnick’s assistant manager at
Old Trafford.
Rangnick has now officially started work
with the 20-time English champions, with the
German preparing his side for Sunday's
Premier League clash at home to Crystal Palace.
Michael surprise exit has left the club without
an obvious candidate for the assistant manager
role, though, with Lars Kornetka not allowing
Rangnick to Manchester despite a host of
speculation
According to the sun,the Red Devils are
keen for Struber to make the move to Old
Trafford and have already been in contact
with the Austrian to discuss a deal.
Struber, who managed Barnsley between
November 2019 and October 2020, worked
with Rangnick at Red Bull Salzburg, with the
former a youth-team coach at the Austrian club.
The report claims that Rangnick is a 'huge
admirer' of the 44-year-old, who has led the
New York Red Bulls to 13 wins from his 35
matches at the helm.
Man United would have to buy Struber out
of the next two years of his contract in order
to bring him to the club.
